' The manager of the Waihi Rccfs-Gigaaitic Consolidation, Ltd., reporting on tlio wcok ended August 5, says:—"Drivine north, at 300 feet level has been continued, and progress has been 9 Xeet, making .total driven 134 feet. Tho class of country being, passed through is of a firmer natiirc. The quartz in face is improv-, ing, with bunchcs of mineral pyrites being lioticcable. We are driving on a true northerly coursc, and tho reef is making stronger as drive advances. We have' had exceedingly heavy rain, but very slightly increased water in shaft; machinery is worlting -well."
