NELSON: CO-OPERATIVE FRUIT COMPANY, LTD. / The statutory meeting of the Nelson Co-operativo Fruit Company. Ltd., took place on Tuesday. This company, which, has a potential 'strength of •£50,0D0, went to allotment on £15,000, and of this amount about £12,300 was represented either directly or by proxy at Tuesday's meeting of- shareholders. The report and balance-sheet submitted by the provisional- directors were _ adopted.lt was stated that nrrange- ' ment's were being made for cold storage at Motuoka and packing-sheds at Mapua,' Bronte, Tasrnan, and Motueka. Various well-informed speakers referred interestingly to the bright future which 'they claimed, on evidence, was assured for fruit iu local and overseas markets. ■ , _ Tne statutory meeting was immediately followed oy a: general meeting. There were thirteen nominations for the directorate','and the following were elected :-f-Messrs. A. P. Allport, H. E. Anderson, C. A. Henderson, J. T. Horn, A. M'Kee, and F. E. Nottage. The appointment of a manager was left to the new directorate. It was-arranged that the new direc:to'rs should address meetings in. different parts of the Nelson district, beginning at Moutere. .
