By Telegraph—Press Association. Ormondville, August 10. Mr. Ross addressed. a meeting at Elsthorpe last night. He contradicted a Press Association report which said that Sir Joseph Ward and Mr. Massey endorse the candidature of Sir. Smith, iu compliance with an understanding with the electors when the National Government was formed. The electors, he said, were never consulted. _ Mr. Ross addressed a meeting. of farmers at Hatuma tceday. A resolution was carried thanking the candidate, and recording the meeting's determination' to exercise the right to choose a representative on his merits.
