VARIOUS ITEMS OF NEWS
The following aro the distinguishing colours allotted to units of the Sixteenth Reinforcements: Engineers, yellow and black; A Coy., red; B'Coy., green; C Coy., brown; D Coy., blue; E Coy., red and green; F Coy., red and black; G Coy., khaki and yellow; .H Coy., khaki and blue; J Cov.,,French grey.
It is notified in Camp Orders that Cabinet has approved of_ separation and children's allowances being paid where the payees are resident anywhere in ti?o British Dominions. Children's allowance has been increased to 9d. per day, with effect as from July 1,1916. The ..following officers are allocated to the undermentioned units of the Twentieth' Infantry:—

The following temporary appointments' havo 'been approved by the Camp Commandant at Trcntham":—
B Company, 16th Reinforcements. — Corpl. E. W. Witkefield, to be sergeant; Lcc.-Corp!s. J5. F. Giddy, H. G. Dickie, J. Kirkland, and F. E. M'Roberts, to bo corporals; Pte. ,R. Gray, and Pte. R. C. Shield to bo lance-cor-porals.
H Company, 16th Reinforcements.— Pte. F. W. Thompson, to lie orderlyroom clerk with rank of corporal. The following temporary appointments havo been approved by' the Camp Commandant at Featherston :— 16th Specialist Coy-. (Signal Section). -Corpl. 'I. Redpath, to be sergeant* Lee.-Corpl. F. W. Aisher, to ho corporal ; Pte. C. W. S. Keenan, to be lance-corporal. Danes at the Soldiers'- Club. On Saturday evening a dance will be given at tho Spldiers' Club to tho memof the Sixteenth Reinforcements. These tlances are always very popular, and no doubt tho men will take full advantage of the opportunity thus aftorded tlicin of spending u pheasant evening. Members of other Reinforcements now in camp are invited to be present.
