MEETING OF THE UNION

The Wellington Rugby Union met last evening. Mr. D. Weir presided. A Poll eke player appeared to answer a charge of striking an opponent. He denied the accusation absolutely, and the mattor was deferred.

Respecting the case of H. Parrant, Petone, who was ordered off the field for disputing a Referee's decision, no action was taken.

No action was taken in the case of W.. Francis, who was ordered off tho field at Upper .Hnttfor disputing a referee. \ "

It was reported that St. Patrick's College was unable to maintain a team in the third grade competition. The withdrawal was owing to tho loss of several of the beam's best players. Applications, therefore, were made to have Coles and C. Dealy, of St. Patrick's College team, transferred to Selwyn. The College Club wrote stating they had no objection to tho transfers, and the applications were granted.

The fixtures for August 19 were drawn as followsSelwyn and Oriental, Athletic Park; Athletic and University, Athletic Park; Petono and Upper flutt, Petone; Poneke and Wellington, Duppa, Street; Wellington College and Old Boys, College ground.
