KARORI BOROUGH
Tho fortnightly meeting of the Ka•ori Borough Council was held last •vening, the Mayor (Mr. B. G. H. Burn) 'residing. Applications from Mr. Deniison Prodd and Mr. L. R. Tingey to ave footpaths in front of their resiences remetalled were referred to the orough engineer for attention, toether with 'instructions to have tho orse cleared' off tho section at tho irnor of Church-Street and Main oad. On the recommendation of the r orks Committee it was decided to - indict the engineer to cut down cerin trees in Churchy Street for Mr. ivies. Tho council is to sell the wood id the difference betweon the price ceived for the wood and the conn's expenses is to bo paid; by Mr. ivies. The question of providing a ill of Honour for men who have gone . active service from Karori f-'as rerrod to tho Finance Committee for port. Councillor li-aino, who is away i business, was granted seven months' ivs of absence.
