THE PRICE OF PEACE
LECTURE BY MR, LIONEL CURTIS. To-night a distinguished visitor to NewZealand, llr. Lionel Curtis, who was one of the founders of "The Round Table" magazine, will lecture in the Concert Chamber (Town Hall) on "The Price of Peace." The address will deal with the problems now presented by the British. Empire and the conditions of their solution. Mr. Curtis and his eo-workers'in "The Round Table" organisation have' bceu continuously studying thes'o pro-' blems for some years past, and the views' they liavevpresented in "The Round Tablo" have had great effect in influence ing opinion on international politics' throughout tlifi Empire. Mr. Curtis feels that the time has now come for him, to state the constructive views at which' 110 has himself arrived concerning too vital issues now confronting the British' Commonwealth. -His conclusions are not to be taken as tho views of "The Round' Table" organisation, which is a' purely student body, or as tho views of tho 'Chambers of Commerce and the Workers', Educational Association, under whose auspices the lecture is being given. The importance of the lecture is self-evinent,' ana a large attendance of th'e public is .anticipated. Mr. Curtis is' convinced 'fiat it is necessary for the people to understand the present yast problems of, the Empire- in order that their solution may be satisfactorily attained. Successful public meetings have been 'held in Christchuroh and Suncdim To-night's lecture is free, and the public is cordially invited to attend. At its close. Mr, Curtis will be ready to answer questions. His Worship the Mayor will take tho chair at S p.m., and the meeting will commence punctually.
