SLOW RECRUITING

iPBESSED MAN OR VOLUNTEER?

Up till noon on' Saturday only 2S men had registered for service at the Town Hall'during the whole of last week—one of the lowest records since the office was opened in October last year. Of. the papers handed in ID out of the 28 were reported to be fit for military duty. The slow rate of recruiting for the draft which will be called uip on August 22. is taken as an indication that the public is waiting for the Military Service Bill to be made operative.

Very little time now remains for men to volunteer—very little time remains for them to decide how they will answer the inevitable question: pressed juan or volunteer?,
