MIRAMAR AFFAIRS
The Mayor, Air. I'. Townsond, presided at last evening's meeting of tho Miramar Borough Council, and- thero wero also present: Councillors Underwood, HawUiiirne, Green, and Pollock.
The Valuer-General advised the council that the sitting of tho Assessment Court will bo held, on Friday, August 11. Councillor Underwood said ho had recoived objections from various residents that tho observation car was sent out to run the town trip at 8.16 in tho mornings. The car was a bad ono for wot days, and the seats wero wet and not fil to sit on. Also that a-number of conductors would not allow tho blinds on the weather side of the Seatoun cars to bo drawn down, which was against instruc. lions. It was decided that tho Tramways Traffic Manager bo written to asking that a closed-in car bo sent to Seatoun on a wet day, and also that further instructions be issued to conductors in connection with blinds being drawn down.
