CATHOLIC FEDERATION

Tlie first meeting of tho Executive Committee of the Wellington Diocesan Council was held at St. Patrick's Hall, Bouncott Street, on Wednesday, when Mr. J. Duggan presided over a full attendance. It was decided that the monthly meetings be held on the first Wednesday. Proposals were submitted having for their object the closer union of parish committees in the city and suburbs, and with this object in view a conference will be held on the afternoon of August 13. It 'was decided to send a .member of the executive to the Hawke's Bay district early in September, for the purposo of making the objects of the federation better known among tho Catholics in that district. A series of quarterly general meetings was arranged for. The first of these meetings will be held at Kilbirnie on Sunday, August 20, Messrs. Hoskins and Johnson being deputed to represent tho committee.
