EXEMPT FROM ARREST
SOLDIERS.. AND CIVIL PROCESS. -.Additional war regulations, have been gazetted-exempting soldiers of the Exr. - peditiouary Forces from arrest ■on civil ■• \ process or under the Destitute Persons ""' " Act. The regulations are:— , .1. lii these regulations tho term "soldier" means' an officer, non-commissioned - officer,-or man of au Expeditionary Force •."..' under the Expeditionary Forces Act, 1915. , . 2. Without the 'previous' consent in ' ' Writing of a military authority it shall >-( not be'lawful for any person to arrest ...." n soldier under any warrant of arrest or -.-. .; . commitment issued under tho Destitute '.-'■. Persons Act, ; .1!>1A,! whether before or. , .rafter tho date ! o"f,these regulations, or to '„.. procure tho iss'im under that Act of any ■.; ' such warrant against a soldier. : S. -Without '-the' previous consent in j :' -Writing of. a.mililary authority it shall ' ; not -bo lawful for any person to com- --■ mence any criminal proceedings against '•■a soldier for any offence committed against thd Destitute Persons Act, 1910, whether-committed before or after the i date of these regulations, or to arrest a :■ J soldier in pursuance of a.conviction for j . ■ ays such offence, whether such conviction •: is obtained before or after the date of j ■ these regulations. i I. Without the , previous consent in ■ : - writing of a military authority it shall ' not be lawful for any person'lo arrest a soldier under the Imprisonment for Debt' Limitation Act, 1008,. or under any other form of civil process whatever, whether the order, warrant, or other process is' • made or issued before or after tho date of "these' regulations. ' , 5. It shall not be lawful for any gaoler or other person to detain in custody a . soldier who is arrested in breach of theso - -,- regulations. . - . • ; 6. If on the coming into operation of - theso regulations any soldier is in cus- ■ , tody under any form 1 of civil process or , in pursuance'of any proceedings under '"-" the. Destitute Persons Act. 1910, a military authority may by warrant dischargo - ] that soldier from custody, and he shall bo forthwith released accordingly.
