CLOSE SEASONS FOR GAME
Sir,—Before Parliament closes it should consider the advisability of making next year an absolute close season for gameshooting, if the war has not terminated before. At a time when the result of the war depends on the rtipply of explosives, our soldiers should not have to suffer so that those remaining at home can shoot game instead of Germans. If a close season were proclaimed at once importers would not send tlreir oraei'3 away for cartridges, and their business would not be interfered with as if the order was made'just before the 6cason started,, and" the British manufacturers would not divert part of their energies to malting sporting instead of military cartridges. It was always .intended to have an occasional close season, and now is the time. I.am, et °" WILD DUCK.' -
