DECLARATION DAY

WAR ANNIVERSARY AT THE TOWN HALL. The, Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) is making arrangements for the public meeting to bo held in the Town Hall on Friday evening, August 4, the second anniversary of the declaration of war by Great Britain. At the gathering the followresolution, framed by the Central Committee for tho National Patriotic Organisations, of which the honorary president is the Rt. Hon. Mr. Asqjiith, will bo sub. mitted:— "That on this, the second anniversary of the declaration of a righteous war, this meeting of citizens of records its inflexible determination to continue to a victorious end the struggle in maintenance of those ideals of liberty and justice which are the common and sacred cause of the Allies." Among the speakers will be the Mayor, the Rt. Hon. W. F. Mas«y (Priiuo Minister), Sir Joseph Ward, and the Hon. Jas. Allen.
