BURGLARY IN AUCKLAND
SAFE OPENED' WITH EXPLOSIVES. By Telegraph—Press Auckland, July 29. The Newton branch, premises of the Home and Colonial Stores were burglariously entered last night. The'safe was removed to the cellar; packed round with flour in bags, and forced open with explosives. Butter front the store was used to tamp the charge. It is estimated that about .£l5O -was 6tolen. The burglars broke two i cash registers-in tho shops, apparently with an axe, and extracted about £i in cash.
