9 - ■ ' FUNEEAL AT KAEOEL . The remains of tho Into" Mr. J H* Escott, M.P., were interred at Karori yesterday, tbo deceased .being accorded full military honours.' A considerable number of South, African veterans, who saw scrvico in the Boer War with Mr. Escott, were present, as well as members of the Ministry and members of Parliament. ' A considerable number of Mr. Escott's constituents from Pahialua were, also present, there being represented the ■ Woodvillo County Council, the Woodville Jockey Club, the Pahiatua County Council, the Masonic Lodges of Woodville and' •, Pahiatua, arid tho Mayors of Woodville i and Pahiahia. ' j The pall-bearers were Messrs. D. HV j Guthrie, H. Poland, G. Forbes, C. Av Wilkinson, A Han-is, and G. R. Sykes. The scrvico was conducted by the Eer. E. Gardiner, of, Woodville. ; ; The escort and firing party were furnished by the Commandant at Trentham (Colonel Potter), and tho Trentham Band also attended.
