The Belgians have- occupied Mariahaef, a hundred miles south-west of Lake Victoria, after a successful progress west of the lake, where they captured a thousand porters' loads of rifles, munitions, and supplies, and defeated an enemy force of six hundred. They altogether captured 4000 natives and 190 whites.
