The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency 00... Ltd., report, that at their Levin yards on Wednesday they offered a, fair yarding of principally fat sheep and cattle to a food attendance of buyers. Several pens of sheep failed to reach reserves, but cattle sold freely under the hammer. They quote:—Fat wethers, 345.; .fat.cows, £11 4s. to £11 10s.; fat heifers, £10 7s„ £11 55., to £12 18s.; vealers, £2 18s.; forward-condition coivs, £5 2s. to £6 35.; weaner heifers, 275: 6d.; weaner pigs, 13s. 6d. to 165.: store pigs, 245; 6d. The .herd of 61 cows made an average of £10, the top prices being £12 155., £13, £13 10s., £15, £15 ss.' The pedigree milking Shorthorn cows were keenly' competed for, and realised 21}gns., 27Jgns,, and 40gns. The heifei-o were good, and sold well at prices from £6 to £10, average £8. Shorthorn bulls,, three-year, 16igns.; Shorthorn'bulls, two-year, 12Jgns. to 20gns.; yearling Shorthorn bulls, Vigils, to Signs. , Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., held their Martwn sale on-Tuesday. There were very good yarilings of both sheep and cattle, and a. good sale .resulted, although the demand.for'hoggets was not quite so keen. Quotations: Two-tooth wethers, 285., 295.; small do., 255.
