The Government Statistician's estimate of the 'autumn• and winter lambings shows that the number of ewes in New South Wales is 17,119,000, of which 10,GK,000*-were mated l . The number of lambs dropped was 7,277,000, and the probable number of "markings" will be 5,750,000, equal 'to 54 per cent.-. The autumn lambing In many, districts was less successful than tho winter, many lambs perishing owing to lack of rain. \ f We note w.ith interest that all the best prizeg for cheese at the 'Pnlmerston Show and the best prices in the London market were obtained by those makers who use Victor Vats.
