SHORTAGES NEARLY MADE UP. B o . Up <till 3.45 p.m. yesterday, 30 of tho 10 men required to make "up No. 5 Group's shortage for the 19th Reinforcements had been. secured, and they included 10 men who had failed to answer the roll call on Monday and Tuesday last. Many recruits camo forward after the hour stated and expressed their willingness to go into camp at once. Hence arrangements wero mado for them .to be examined by a medical officer immediately, and in some cases the papers returned were satisfactory. Tho-military authorities anticipate that the Wellington City and Suburbs full quota will be made up by to-day, and all men who have been passed as medically fit, and who wish to go into camp during the day, are requested to parade at the Drill Hall, Bucklo Street, at 9 o'clock sharp this morning. Ten medically fit men registered yesterday, their names being as follow:— W. Ross, labourer, City. A. Watson, lino erector. City. K. E. Lockett, ironmonger, Lower Hiitt. E. C. Boulton, returned soldier, Christchurch. .T. H. Porter, warehouseman, City. H. A. I'hillins, master builder, City. T. B. Goodwin, architect, City. ,T. Davis, labourer, Citv. H. V.
