MILITARY SERVICE BILL
MR. M'COJIBS WRITES A LETTER. The following letter regarding the Military Service Bill was yesterday dispatched by Mr. J. M'Combs, M.P., to His Excellency the Governor:— To His Excellency the Governor, My Lord,—lt is my desire to present to you a petition against the Military Service Bill becoming law, on the grounds to be set forth in tho petition. I therefore respectfully ask' Your Excellency to postpone tho signification of your assent for a few days to enable me to put those grounds, in proper formgrounds which will set forth my opinion as to tho constitutional nature of tho Bill or otherwise. I understand that the Military Service Bill has this day passed its final stages in the Legislative Council. '. I have the honour to be, my Lord, Your obedient servant, (Sfid.) J. M'COMBS.
