SHACKLETON'S RELIEF EXPEDITION
THE DISCOVERY TO BE SENT 'Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. London, July 21. On receipt of the New Zealand Government's cableistating that repairs to tlio 'Aurora will occupy at least sixty days, owing to th'e uncertainty as to obtaining labour, tho British Government has deoided, owing to an \irgont cable from Sir Jfrnßt Shackleton. to dispatch a vessel from England, although the journey from Plymouth to Elephant Island is twice as long as that from Wellington. ' The Hudson Bay Company, owners of the whaler Discovery, used in the 1910 expedition, thereupon loaned tHe vessel for tho relief expedition. ' She will leave in a few days.
