KHANDALLAH DEBATING SOCIETY

Tho weekly meeting of the abova society was held on Tuesday evening, when the subject of discussion was tho first issue of the journal. The following members read articles:—Mesdames T. Page, C. Jones, and A. J. Daniel, Miss Reith, Messrs. E. Hobbs, C. Jones, W. Appleton, A. E. Budd, E. N. M. Hogben, J. M. Dale, A. E. Burge, and G. Burt. Many of tho articles were, of a humorous character, and most of them caused considerable discussion. Tho meeting terminated with a vote of thanks to the editors, Miss E. Reith and Mr. ,T. M. .Dale. At the next meeting a debate will be held, "That it is in the best interests of the Empire to maintain a standing Army of" at least a million men,"
