CASEMENT'S APPEAL DISMISSED
AN APPEAL TO THE HOUSE OF LORDS Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. London, July IS. Casement's appeal has been dismissed. There was only a small attendance at tlio trial. Tlio dreary legal argument failed to fill , the Court, though the Judges appeared interested iu iUr. Sullivan's delvings into old-time records. The Judges canio to a decision in a few minutes. . Casement listened to Ihe decision without apparent emotion. With a. faint smile ho waved his hand to a woman friend who was present throughout the trial, and finally disappeared Ixsluw tlio dock. It is understood that Casement will appeal to the House, of Lords. A petition is being promoted in hia favour.
