Whangarei, July IS. A man named William Costello, married, a surfaceman on the HukerenuiOtira railway section, when travelling alone on a jigger about 1.30 this morning, was struck by a break-down train, working in connection with washouts, which was' proceeding north, and killed. Costello was apparently returning home.
