ALLEGED PUBLICATION OF DISLOYAL ''MATTER. . By Telegraph—Press Association. t Palmerston N., July 17. In the Magistrate's CoiirtJ;his morning, charges concerning an "alleged seditions publication ivbro preferred against P. C. Freeth, editor <>f the ''Manawutu Daily Times," for publishing a Utter signed "Shirker," which was alleged to contain matter indicating disloyalty and likely to interfere with recruiting. Counsel for the Oow.n said he wanted to disavow any suggestion of disloyalty oh the part of the editor or the management. Tho letter was taken exception to, however, as it contained sentiments verging on rank ; sedition. The ; defence admitted publication and said it hall dono so in order to "slato" the sentiments editorially.v Judgment was reserved. .
