GREAT ROUND-UP OF CRIMINALS
POLICE P,AID IN PHILADELPHIA'. Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. Philadelphia, July 16. A great raid, designed to clear tlia city of criminals, was. made to-day. Nine hundred arrests were made. The charges rango from drug-selling (a highway robbery. Tho round-up was carefully planned, and cleverly carried out. The majority of the arrests were made' in the "Tenderloin" district. After the polico stations overflowed, the prisoners were taken to public halls. More warrants aro being served. The raid was the eequel to a wave of house and highway robberies, and other crimes.
