ORGAN RECITAL
The one hundredth organ recital, presided over by Mr. Bernard F. Page, as City Organist, will be given in the Town Hall tcnight, when a special programme will bo rendered. The great Sonllta in G Major,.by Sir Edward Elgar,' will be heard for the first time, m Wellington. This composition is almost too big a work for the organ, and .the whole of it has been written in broad orchestral style. , .Perhaps the two finest movements are the Allegretto and Andante, the organist being given a better opportunity to colour the work as the technical difficulties 1, arc somewhat'modified in these two movements. Other works to be played are Wagner s "Das Rheingold" and Walthers "Prize Song," Cesar Franck's Finale in B Flat and Melodio Rachmaninoff. A special souvenir programme, including all the compositions played in the hundred recitals will bo issued.
