DEATH .FROM; AN ACCIDENT.
Albert Marks, a Harbour Board employee, who MS in charge of the Queen's bonded store, wa.s fouud yesterday afternoon wifii tlie lift on top of Tiini: Ho was at once sent to the Hospital, wliero it was.found Hint lio was suffering from severe concussion of tho brain. Ho never regained consciousness, and died in tlio institution at 9.10 last evening. Tlio deceased was 'between 47 and 48 years of age, and had beei] a servant of the board for several years. He resided at 10 Elizabeth Street. MAN "CUTS HIS THRO AX A man named Christopher William Smith, residing at lireytown North, attempted to commit siiicida at 1 a.m. yes. terday by cutting his throat. Smith was arrested on Sunday last on a charge of assault.- Ho appeared at Court next morning, and the case being adjourned he was lot out on bail. Latest reports received by the police in Wellington were to the o'ffect that the man was expected to recover.
