Captain Jl'Coll, the leader ot the raid, was mortally wounded while gallantly nssisting hi 6 men. He had got safely back to his own trench, but returned to help tho stretcher-bearers in No Afan's Land. Another party from the 2nd Brigade Mere not so successful in their raid. Lieutenant K. Munro was killed with shrapnol before tho bombardment lifted. The portion of trencb. entered contained no Germans.
