THE CHEESE OUTPUT
.-■ NEGOTIATIONS IN PEOGEESS. /. Mr. ,G. Hunter (Waipawa) last ' week asked the l'rime Minister whether he would endeavour 'to 'arrange with the British Board of Trade hot to take more than half the season's output of cheese; and' whether,- if' the suggested arrangement was made, equal facilities for shipment of cheese to thj London market would* be given to private shippers as were now given to shipments on accouut of tho Board of Trade? . In reply, the Eight Hon. W. F.'Jlassey said: "Negotiations are still pro-, .seeding between the' British Board .of Trade and myself with regard to the suggested -requisitioning of cheese within the Dominion, and.it would .be premature at present to divulge what has taken place. The honourable member, however, - may rest assured that if,any arrangement is made, such ,as is suggested, I will see, so far as I possibly can, that no hardship is done to the producer in this country."
