\ * t The Masierton Co-operative Dairy Company has decided to send two directors to Napier to inquire into 1 the system adopted there of supplying pasteurised milk to the residents of the town.
An effort is being made to establish an egg-laying competition in the Wairarapa, under the auspices of the Wairarapa Egg Circle. Mr. \Y. li. Kimball I'ias oH'crcd to provide supervision] and fifty pens for tlio use of the competition. The Wairarapa Rugby Union's junior fixtures were advanced another stage on .Saturday last, when Greytown_an.il lied Stars played a drawn game at Greytown. and Gladstone defeated Mnrfinboi'ough ,l\v iG points to JO. Greytown Thirds defeated Carterton Thirds, and are nowleading in jthis grade. Excellent entries have been received for tho M'a;terton Poultry Association's Annual Show to bo held next week. A. football team from the Featherston Camp played a match at Carterton on Saturday with a AVairarapa representative team, and won by nir.c points to eight. The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Teachers' Institute was held 011 Saturday last, when the report was adopted and officers elected as follow—President, Mr. 1\ I;. Combs, ALA.; vice-presidents, Messrs. D. E. Leslie and J?. J. Foss; lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. I'iieldhouse; delegate? to Wellington meetings, Messrs.'l.estie and Combs. A statement, presented at the meeting ■if the general committee of the Masterton A. and I'. Association on Saturday (••liowcd the general fund to he in debit to a sum of J8195 Os. -W. Tt was reported that the donations for the year ending June 30 hud amounted to iCTOt 16s. 'Jd„ as against .£ll6 7s. in tho previous year.
