CHARGE OF BIGAMY

At the City Police Court' this morning, a young man named Alfred John Mills pleaded guilty to failing to provide his wife, Rebecoa Mills (who ,resides at Oamaru), with adequate maintenance. A charge of bigamy $ was also preferred against him. Accused was arrested in a Dunedin hotel, and was living there .with a woman purporting to br> liis wife. Inquiries revealed the. fact that on July.. 7 Mills had gone through, the marriage ceremony with Sarah Adelaide Whisker at. Christchurch, while his wife was still living. • • . - - • The accnsc<l: "I. wish the lady to be exonerated from all blame, in which case I shall plead guilty." Accused was remanded for a week.
