'• DETAILS OF A COMING SHIPMENT. • The 'following particulars are given in J, the "Banffshire Journal," Hay 9, concefning tho pedigree Polled Angus cattle by Messrs. Murray, Roberts 1 and Co. for Hurling firos., Pon7, garoa,; and mentioned in this column - on Saturday:— ' : A very nice consignment of AberJ deen-Angus cattle has been selected for - '.export. In New Zealand by Mr. L. 'Beaton, - Cullen,- late farm, manager to the Ciojmtess Dowager of SeaJield, and rccognised as one of the best judges of AberdecnAngus cattle. Tho! consignment consists , of two two-year-old bulls and 'three two-year-old heifers. One of the bulls is Ermitauo, calved February 7; 1914, which .■was'acquired-from Mr. William Maitland, . i.East.-.Balhalgaruy, Inverurie. He is of the" Trojan Erica family, was bred by Mr. John Philip, Dandaleith; and at: the Perth sale in 1915 he was fourth in a claps of.27s'bulls. Later ob, in the ownership of .Mr. 'Maitland, ho was first at Inverurie and second afc-the Eoyal Northern show at Aberdeen to Mr. I-'indlay's champion-winning bull-Prince of Adra, sines exported to the> Argentine. Ermi. tano's. sire is El Capitaii,. bred by Mr. -* James Kennedy, of Doonholm, which ■; cost .300 guineas as a calf, and. which is . still .in active " servioo in Mr.v« Philip's , J held. His showyard honours include first ■ and champion bull at' the Eoyal Kortli:ei n, and first and champion-of the breed .- at Insch and Inverurie shows, .while his sno,■ Mondello, it,-may also' be recalled, v was. a first prize winner at the Eoyal . j English and Highland Shows. Tho dain -.of Ermitano is Knuloxa, by Eudoxus, a 2 TCT - V fine breeding- sire, anil a very good example of theMongevitv"and extended of the breed. - The other two- - year-old.bull is Moose-2nd, of the old and highly popular family of Hoses of Water--;town, tracing through -this A! tyro, 3?it>pointie, and Iviuochtry herds.' He was bred, by Colonel M'lnroy, C.8.; of The Bum, is by the Lucy of Portlethen sire _■ Luciiiuo, which was champion bull'of.his . ~ breed at the United Banffshire Agricnl-'' * tural Society, while "his grand sire Erine- - veno, bred by Mr. Philip, was.a second prize winner at the Eoval Northern show. \His dam Moosie is by Neligan, and his " granddam is by Echador, which cost. 360 * guineas as a caf. Ermitano in the East herd and . Moose 2nd in" the -herd, of Colonel M'luroy have proved * very successful sires. Two of the heifers "were selected from, the large herd owned l>y .Mr. Macpherson, ifulben. One of them is Pride of Aberdeen"s32iid. by the' Blackbird sire BlacJ£ Bonricer, which was : recently exported to the Argentine, and ; out of Pride of Aberdeen 296 th, by Prince 'Atlas. .The other heifer is the exceed- ■. .jSiigly: well bred.' Pride, of-'Mulbeii . dlth. .'' , is .out of the Pride of 'Miilben cow .. Tride of .the Fell, by Eblamere. and is . ' 'full of the best Bnllindalloch blood. Her ";:sire is .Eclipser of Bnllindalloch; a cliam'»n winner at the Royal Northern.-, the j'pyal Dublin, and at. a nntnl>er of local ' "shows, while his sire.is the double High- ' ,'land Society champion Jeshurun, of tbe ;Jilt family. Both these • heifers are in "Service, to the .Miss -Burgess bull Be- } havionf of Ballindalloch,' a prize-winnin" -".Isire by' Eblamere. The third heifer was "Selected from the herd of Mr. .T. R.
