LIFE-SAVING
The ladies' public life-saving class at the. Boys' Institute, Tasman Street,. successfully underwent examination for proficiency certificates and bronze medallions on the shortest day of the year (June 23)> and-it-redounds to their credit that there was no failure. The following- is a list of the successful candidates, trained by Miss M. Nolan, an instructor of the Wellington Head Centre:—Bronze medallions: Jl-rs. Alethea Walker, Miss Maude L. Allen. Proficiency certificates: Misses Nancy Edmanson, "Cressell B. Vaughan, Vhen C. Voughan, Daisy E. Donnelly, Jessie Aiken, Phyllis'Giblin, Jsobei C. Jenkins. The Wellington Head Oflice hai also undertaken tho instruction of boys belonging to the institute in life-saving, and at the present time there are between M and 50 lads attending the classes.
