ANGLICAN SYNOD

The Anglican Dioce=an Svnod continued its session yesterday. Bishop Sprott presided. Tho Rev. B. D. Ashcroft moved:—"That the subscriptions to the Diocesan Pension Fund should be for the future on a sliding scale, the amount paid in each case to be proportional to tho stipend." The idea of the mover was to lessen the subscription for the younger members of the clergy. The motion was opposed by several speakers, and was then withdrawn. !-1 On the motion of Mr. A. .7. Rutherford, it was resolved:—"That, in accordance with the wish expressed in "the report of the Wellington Diocesan Board of Trustees, a Select Committee be appointed, to whom shall be referred certain correspondence relative to church lauds at Aliredton." Oljher business is reported elsewhere.
