MONTHLY MEETING. Messrs. W, Ferguson (chairman), A. M lntosh, Jas. Macintosh, X. 0. H. Tripp, J. Hutcheson, A. 11. Atkinson, J. Lewis, and C. M,.Luke were present at a ineetißg ;of tho executive, of the Wellington War Belief Association held yesterday afternoon. '■The Finance Committee reported that the balance in the bank on the imprest account was J329!) ss.' 5d., and that the receipts and.paymonts account stood at Ji-010■ lis. 7d., on- Juno 30. The list of axed deposits was .£68,000. '■ Accounts' amounting to ss.'2d. were passed for payment. - - - . The secretary, reported that the followmg contributions find been received since June 8: Committee of Victoria College Graduates' Association, 55.; Hon. W. 1. Pennefather, ,£ls Im. ; Mr. Martin Chapman, .£100;-Mr. d. A. liwen, JC2O. iho following names have been added to tho list of life members-since last meeting.:—Messrs. J. B. Harcourt, A.. It. Atkinson, 11. Dl Cook, E. W. Hunt, A. Dougall, F. S. Hodson, Chas. Haines, Miss Morton, Hon. AV. F. Ponnefather, Dr. W . E. Herbert, Messrs. D. A. Ewen, Geo, Shu-tcliffc, Hem-y HaU, M. Jlyci-s, It: M, oimpson, and Archbishop Eedwood. len members have also been added to the list of annual members. Tho Relief Committee reported that sinqa, the* last meeting of tno executive 189 applications had been dealt with. Numerous betters of thanks from gratified applicants wero read at the various meetings. Lettors of.thanks were-sent to the children of Miss Laurewson's class at the lechmcal School for their gift!, of clothing, and to the children of the Terrace fechool under Miss'Fraser, also to Miss Barnett, for the assistance she has rendered Mrs. MacEwan in ( "connection with the relief work. Mrs. M. MacF.wan reported that splen-didly-made earments for the use. of soldiers' dopendants'had been forwarded by the children,of tho Kaipororo, Hutt District High, iind Stokes Valley Schools. Mr. AV. A. Kennedy, local 'manager for the Union S.S. Company, wrote to the society'statins'that as the result of the effort niado by Madame Melba on tinlast trip of. tho Niagara froin Vancouver a considerable sum of money was raised, of which X'so had been allocated to tho War Relief Association. Tho secretary was instructed to .write thanking Mr Kennedy for-his interest in the matter.
