NEWS AND APPOINTMENTS. With reference to tho privilege extended to Eoldiers of posting letters at the rate of ono penny, it is notified that, in order ito obtain this privilege, letters must ba endorsed by tho sender with tho name of unit and reinforcement. The letter must bo posted at a military camp, unless addressed, to a soldier. All postal matter postod by soldiers outside the oamp bearing the penny rate only will be surcharged at the office <of posting. _ Tho following temporary appointments have been approved by tho Ca.mp Commandant at FoatherstonCorpl. J. F. Andrews, l l ' Company, 15th, to bo quar-tormastor-oorgeant; Corplsl A. G. Nissen and C. L. Nicholls, F Company, loth, to be sergeants; Lce.-Corpls. W. H. H. Foster and G. 6. Chapman, F Company, loth, to be corporals; Bugler It. G. Allen, b Company, 15th, to bo corporal bugler. At Trentham the following temporary appointments have been approved:— Headquarters Staff (Commandant's Office).—Pte. A. Stewart, to be corporal. Headquarters Staff (Camp Military Police).—Ptes. JF. J. Blake and"!). Evans, to be lance-corporals.
N.Z. Field Engineers, 17th Keiuforcements.—Corpls. D. Amos and K. D, Climie, to be sergeants.
N.Z. Field Engineers, 18th Reinforcements.—Corpls t. C. Day and H. J. W. Moody, to be sergeants.
Twentieth Kei nforcements (Infantry).— Pte. 11. i'\ Butcher, to be corporal. Tho following are appointed buglers to the undermentioned units:—!!. G. Allen, B Coinpauy, 15th; B. J. Hay, B Company, 15th; A. J. Hears, C Company, 15th; E. A. Barnes, D Company, 15th; It. Lee, B Company, 15th 5 F. W. Potbury, F Company, 15th; A. M'Kellar, G Company, 15th; J, C. M'Kellax, G Company, 15th; W. Chrietensen, II Company, 15th.
