NEW MOTOR BY-LAWS
SOLICITED CONCESSIONS GRANTED. As the result of a recent' deputation, to tlio By-Laws Committee of the City Council, the following recommendation from that committee was agreed to without comment l>y the council last evening:— "The committee report that they have been waited on by a deputation from the Wellington Aufcomobilo Club and representatives from business houses interested in motor vehicles, with reference to the by-law. now before the council, dealing with motor vehicles standing iii strcots. The deputation asked, generally, that the restriction of standing time of ten minutes in certain streets bp extended to half an hour, and tho restriction of one hour in the remaining streets be waived altogether." . In "referring to the by-laws generally, Councillor Barber" (chairman of the committee, stated that it might be found nceessary to make certain other alterations, but ho had beon advised by tho City Solicitor that those could be made when the by-laws camo up for confirmation.
