MINISTERS' ASSOCIATION

The monthly meeting of the Wellington Ministers' Association 1 was held at the Y.M.C.A. on Monday evening. The annual report, sotting forth a fairly satisfactory year's work, was read and adopted. 'The Rev. Dr. Gibb was reelected president, and the Rev. J. Richaras secretary. Tho increasing demand, •'ro»; almost all sections of the community. for 6 o'clock closing of hotel bars, was favourably commented on, and the following resolution was passed and is to be forwarded to the Prime Minister:—

'That this meeting of the Wellington Ministers' Association, in the interests of economy and of the efficiency of civilian and soldier, respectfully urges upon the Right Hon. the Prime Minister and the members' of the Government the necessity for curtailing the hours during which liquor'may be sold, so that the burs shall be closed between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. This association would point out that such a measure would bring our Dominion into line with other parts of the British Empire, and would help to hasten the con. elusion of the present war."
