CThristcKurch, June 28, At to-day's meeting of the North Cun. terbury Farmers' Union the following motion was carried unanimously :—"Tliat tho Farmers' Union is desirous of givliDs the Government every assistance in currying out tho military and other operations necessary to cany on the war to a successful issiie; that'tho production, of tho country is already seriously hampered, and a few months more recruiyiang at the present rate will put iwodueers in a very serious position, and must materially reduce our exports, which are an important factor in feeding and cl othiog tho British armies—therefore wo isug gest'to the Government the urgent necessity for immediately placing (he whole facts before tho Imperial authorities, so thnt tbey may realise, if we continue our present supply of Reinforcements, it 'must mean a material decrease in our exports of food, clothing, and material, and thnt tho Imperial authorities bo then pisVed which is the more important for tl.<s Dolfitofon to send—men or material.''
