JAPANESE TRAINING SQUADRON COMING. A Japanese training inp of JI.LJ.M.S. Iwatc (9796 tons) and Azuma (10.118 tons), under J?e<ir-Admir«j T. Mat.s'umura, is' shortly to visit Wellington. Tho Union Company announce that their freighter Waihemo is expected to leave Adelaide with phosphates and salt for Wellington probably to-morrow. She is exported at this port about July 7. THE RUAHINE AT AUCKLAND. Tho liner Rua.hinc, which reached Auckland on Sunday from London, via Cape Town and nobart, made the first portion of tho voyage, in fine weather, but tho latter stages were characterised by-strong winds and high seas. The Star of Australia of the same line, is cxpcctod; hero on Saturday. No word had been received yesterday sbout the departure of the steamer Perch from Newcastle to Wellington with coal. It was expected, however, that she would clear the Australian port yesterday. The Ngakuta is to bo dispatched to-day for Grcymouth to load again for Wellington should be back her© on Saturday. On completion of discharge the collicr will go on the slip here for overhaul. Tho Victoria has been delayed in tho south by heavy rain, and alio will conse« fluently he a day late arriving here. Sho is now r duo on Friday, and will leave for Sydney, via northern ports at noon tho same day.
The local agents for tho Canterbury Shipping Co. announce that the Calm is not now due from Wanganui until Monday. -She will leave for southern ports the samoday.
The F. and S. liuer Middlesex should show up from southern ports on Sunday. From Auckland the Te Anau is oxpected here on Fric'fty. She will load cargo for Timaru, Bluff, and Oamaru, and will get awfly following day. Tho Rosamond is exnected from Onehunga to-morrow to load transhipments for Duncdin.
The Kauri is to get a\my for Westport to-dov to load coal for Wellington. She r,hpuld he back in port on fiundny. W*,kni.u is to resume her running In the Wellington-KnikomM-Lytt-eUon tn-.de on Monday next. The Cygnet, which lias been maintaining the service, will withdraw.
The Awahou, when she arrives cfroraFoxton- on Thursday, will take un runuing for a short while in the Wellington. Foxton service in conjunction with tho. Q.i7«cn of tho South. On July 8 the AwaTiou will be withdrawn for her annual overhaul

Captain Gibson, of the fitormbird, which arrived la«t. night from Waneanu.i, stated that the Wanganui River has for Ihc last few days been in heavier flood than has been tho case for many years pnst. A heavy downpour continued without a moment's break from Saturday night until Monday night. Shipping has, of course, been considerably delayed.
