FOOD DICTATOR PREACHES . .ECONOMY: By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright (Rec, June 26, 10.55 juii.) London, Juno 26. It is Teported from Berlin that Herr von Batocki,' the newly-appointed f( oil dictator, states that a.temporary prohibition of the consumption of meat may perhaps bo expected in Septomber. New meat ticket* are being issued to-day, allowing 10 ounces of meat per head per', week. Tho bread rations for the working classes would bo increased in August. The bread reserve upon which the country was' now living tad only been possible by economy of grain under tho War Department. "Ii tho Central Purchase Com'pnny had been unsuccessful in regard to imports of grain, we would have been seriously embarrassed. It depends on the result of the harvest whether the present rations .••an bo continued.; The cold weather during May has done damage,- but tho crops premise good yields if harvest weather is good." ■ Horr von Batocki considers that communal feeding in largo towns is dosirable.
