TAXATION OF WAR PROFITS

INDUSTRIAL CORPORATION'S RESOLUTIONS. The committee of the Industrial Corporation of New Zealand yesterday forwarded to the Minister of Finance (Sir Joseph Ward) the resolutions bearing 011 the taxation of war profits. The resolutions are as follow-.— (1) That the Minister of- Finance ho respectfully asked to make the average five years, instead of three years, as proposed, and to omit therefrom the strike year. (2) To respectfully ask the Minister of Finance to allow 5 per cent, interest on capital invested before profits are assessed for the 45 per cent, war tax. (3) That donations given to patriotic funds I>b deductible from' profits, and not from capital. .
