FRANCO-TAHITIAN TROOPS
PROGRAMME OF ENTERTAINMENT.
The Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) is losing no opportunity of. making the visit 'to Wellington of the.troops from Tahiti enjoyable. Last evening, by- favour of the Messrs. Fuller, the visitors were taken to the vaudeville performance at His Majesty's Theatre, and thoroughly enjoyed the bright and breezy entertainment provided. At 9.30 a.m. to-day they will be taken round the city in observation cars, returning : to' the 'Barracks in time for luncheon. This evening they will be the guests of the Crown Theatre Company. On Wednesday morning the chairman (Mi'. G. Frost) ajid members of the Reserves Committee will accompany the strangers on a visit to the Zoo, and the same evening ill's. Luke and her lady friends will provide an entertainment for them' in the Town Hall. Some'members of the contingent of Tabitian, . oper fifty in number, visited Parliament Buildings yesterday afternoon, and were shown all that might interest them. Mr. Massey addressed them in the tea-room, wishing them good luck in the big fight to which they go.
