ENGINEERS IN CAMP
The Engineers' Reinforcements at Trentham have been uuder canvas for pome time, the tents being pitched ou their training ground, wliich is an area separated; from the main camp. For some time past this camping ground has been undergoing a process of improvement at the hands of the Engineers, and the tents are now pitched m terraces. Where, every line of tents is, the ground has been l'ormed, as, a roadway is formed, with an arch, or camber, to 'throw oft' •the water. Between each of these terraces a gravelled pathway has been made, with deep ditches filled with stones on each side. These ditches, in unison with the whole of the area, drain towards the main camp road, where a broader and deeper ditch will carry away all soakage and rain, water. \ The tents have all been fitted with the side-boards designed by Sergeant Larsen, of the 14th. Engineers, and the whole camp is calculated to provido dry and warm accommodation for its inmates. The work is not quite completed, but is nearly so. Between the tents, branch paths lead to every tent iloorv,-ny, and the trim gravel, bordered by white boulders, gives the place almost a garden appearance.
