At the lastmeeting a committee was set up to go thoroughly into the whole matter, and endeavour to arrive at some satisfactory i understanding that would mean tho lowering. of the price of milk to the public, and it is hoped that something may bo submitted this evening that will lead to that happy result. 1 . . The Wellington Licensed Milk Vendors' Association: hits given notice of the-fol-lowing motion, to be presented at tho conference: "That,tho association is propared to reduce-.tho . price -to the puolio for. July and August, 1910,. to the prices charged for July and . August, 1915, namely, sd. per quart','provided tho Wellington.. Dairy' Fanners' Co-operative Association, Ltd., reduces its price ! to the vendors for July and August, 1910, iothe prices charged for July . and : August, 1015. . The statement .appended will bo presented for discussion at the conference. Explanatory Notes.—so gallons is the quantity which can fairly be called, a round ior one man to work without assistance on city - streets; 54 gallons are required to serve a 50-gallon round; 43 gallons a 40-gallon round. Oil an increase in selling price from sd. to Cd. Mr quart,' a 50-gallon round immediately tails .to ono of 40 gallons, as customers take less milk to keep within the usual expenditure. Tho, average timo taken up is 72 hours per week, or at the l-ato of 1 12.hours per day for six days per week If labour is employed the award rate is J!2 15s. per .week, with an extra allowance for milk.
