NO INFANTRY ACTIONS THE LONG-DRAWN BATTLE AT VERDUN The High' Commissioner reports:— London, Juiio 15, 12.30' a.m. "On Tuesday night and Wednesday there were no infantry actions on our front. The positions wo gained east of Ypres on Tuesday were heavily shelled ou Wednesday. • "More prisoners were taken, chiefly wounded. "Our lines opposite Maricourt and tb tho north-east of Carnoy, and also south of Neuville-St. Vaast were heavily shelled. Wo bombarded the trenches at various points between St. Eloi and Messines." GERMAN OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE. Amsterdam, June 14. A German communique 6tates: "We lost a portion of a new position northeast of Zillibeke. .
