CRISIS OVER IN THE TRENTINO
„ ITALIANS HOLDING THE ENEMY PAST MISTAKES "HAVE NOW BEEN REMEDIED" (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright). (R-ec. June 14, 6.15 p.m.) Rome, June 13. An Italian semi-official repQrt states: "Tho situation on the Italian front has greatly improved during the past fortnight. Thero was an impression that the enemy might pierce our lines and Teach the plains, but tho Italian policy of not attempting to stop tho Austrian advance on unfavourable ground proved entirely successful. It was expected that tho Austrians would take Asiago and Arsiero, but they have been unable to make any further progress. The enemy's slight advance on the wings has been completely stopped, and the position now is that tho enemy is held all along the line. ■ i "Mistakes have heen remedied, and will not be repeated. There is do "doubt that the Russian advance will provo a most valuable aid. Tho transfer of Austrians from Italy to Galicia must'prove long and difficult. . The position of the Allies was never more hopeful after the British naval victory, the Austrian rout, and the appalling German losses on tho Western, front." ITALIAN OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE. ' v (Eec. June It, 10 p.m.) Rome, June 14. An Italian official communique states:— By brilliant assaults we captured a strongly fortified line along the whole length of the Riormini, from tho Parmesan Height to the Lagnrina Valley. The enemy has been driven out of the Molisini and Anosina, on the Astico front."
