The High Commissioner reports:— , . , ' London, June 14, 3.30 p.m. "On Tuesday morning the Canadian, troops successfully attacked our old position south-east, of Zillebeke, which they captured—a total front of 1500 yards. Heavy lpsses were inflicted on . the enemy, and three officers and 123 men were made prisoners. Our troops, well supported by artillery, "retain the ground gained, which' is being consolidated. Heavy bombardments by the enemy were replied to effectively. ' • ' ' "Attempts by hostile infantry to counter-attack were frustrated by artillery fire. On Monday night our troops successfully raided north-east of Ypres, ancl eouth of Bois Grenier. At the latter place a party of Australians entered tho enemy's trenches, causing the,loss of a dozon killed, and probably several others, also capturing six prisoners, while two trench mortars were destroyed. The raiding party reared safely, the only casualties being one officer and one man, both jilightly wounded. f . "The enemy put 300 shells into Marico'urt. Official.—Germany is forcing all Belgians who have , been resident in Germany for three years to join tho German Army. The Belgian Government has protested to the Allies and neutral Governments of this breach of The Hague Convention. •' • , Spain has taken up the matter on the Belgians' behalf.
