Auckland, June 12. ihree meetings were held, on Sunday, at which speeches were delivered bv Messrs. Webb, M'Combs, Payne, and Walker of Parliament), and Messrs. Semple and Parry. Resolutions were carried against the. Military Ser- , vice Bill. . Palmerston U., June 12. At a large meeting of the Flaxmills Jimployees Union, held to consider the Compulsion Bill, a series of resolutions Mas carried. The opinion was .expressed that the Bill was designed to raise a cheap army and to protect the enormous war profits and wealthy shirker from ]iim tasatmn. The meeting pledged itseli to make a united resistance and strike immediately the Act is put into operation.
